Transition (2021)

Newton Pulsifer was a weird kid. For starters, he chose his name himself. Secondly, he sucked at technology.

See, Newton had found an old family book dating his ancestors at the age of 5 and decided he liked the name more than his birth name. His mother took it in stride.

When puberty hit, she saw him silently start to freak out and took him aside. They started him on puberty blockers soon after.

Finding a job after schooling was not easy. He had an unfortunately thin build due to formative years coupled in with not being able to use technology at all. It was like being in a frat house while underage. He was silently relieved when he got sacked.

His mother, he knew, would always welcome him back with open arms. And then he met Shadwell and realised that men could be worse.
